Lloyd has been practicing arboriculture for over 35 years, he started his career as an apprentice at Melbourne City Council and worked his way up to be the leading hand. From there he worked for the Cities of Malvern (now Stonnington) and Box Hill (now Whitehorse) as the Council Arborist. After this he started his own business providing tree removal and pruning services, as well as giving advice and providing report writing services for his clients.  

To keep up with the trends and changes in the industry he regularly attends conferences and seminars. 

He updated his qualifications in 2005 becoming a Level 5 Arborist by obtaining his Diploma in Arboriculture at Melbourne University. 

He sold the tree climbing side of the business in 2007 to focus on providing report writing services, giving advice, and providing tree treatment services to his clients. His clients include architects, developers, councils, schools and home owners.
